The school’s mission is ‘through engaging, innovative and bespoke approaches to learning, to provide pupils with fulfilling and meaningful experiences that prepare them for the next steps in their education and skills for life’. The School’s Vision is ‘to be recognised as a centre of excellence for the education of pupils who present primarily with cognitive, communication and sensory needs’.
Fountain Head House School was founded by Sir Peter Birkett, an entrepreneur and educator with more than 30 years experience in the education sector. Sir Peter learned of an FE College campus that was due to close that was perfectly positioned to welcome pupils from Saltash and Plymouth alike, and together with Dr Julie Smith (Chair of Governors) Fountain Head House School was created and opened in 2021. Since this point the school has gone from strength to strength continuing to develop and grow.
